My finals week is finally over though I still have to come to class tomorrow for final printing and viewing of our final project in our Video Production 3 class. Anyway, since I’ve been listening to Alex Cornell’s covers for quite a long time now, I decided to make my own album art for his covers. I know it looks really simple because I want it that way. Besides, Alex Cornell’s designs are some kind of a minimalist too. Hehehe!

He’s becoming one of my favorite graphic designer and motion graphic designer! I wish I could also have an internship at his studio just like how he did with Scott Hansen ☺

This somebody was very important to me, in fact, up until now is the most significant person I’ve ever met in my whole life. When I lost the deal, I don’t know what to do.

Hello somebody! I have a lot to tell you but I’ll make this quick and save some if ever we talk to each other again.

Even though I know you won’t be readng this, I’m still posting this anyway! I used to remember all those happy moments that I’ve had with you, all those life-threatening obstacles that we’ve encountered together. Yesterday was somebody’s happy day before, but now it’s just an ordinary day for you.

You were my bestfriend when we were in kindergarten. Yeah, I always deny it because I don’t like having a bestfriend. I have trust issues and other personal issues. Haha! But being with you back in 2010 made me feel like we were back in kindergarten, and you were my bestfriend. Now I don’t know, we’re like strangers to each other. I just hope you don’t throw away all those memories we had. Just to let you know, you’re the only bestfriend that I had and that’s why it makes it so special that you’re very important to me.

Hope to talk to you soon before it’s too late (in my case)

Animated Stills Series 1 is an experimental mini project done by Cheri De Los Reyes that uses essential elements in animating a still image.

Hello. I was organizing all my photos when I saw this picture. I remember I posted this at my DeviantArt account before I deleted it. I can’t remember when I took this photo but I felt that it’s somewhat special to me that’s why I kept it. Hahaha! ☺

Maybe I should’ve posted this during Valentine’s Day but I was busy working on my projects. Besides, it doesn’t have any meaning at all. (At least for someone) Anyway, I’m planning on making a book! Actually I already started and I’m 1/4 there already. Hahaha! This is some of the many mini projects that I’ve already started and I hope to finish all of them! The book is entitled, “The Story” I know it sounds lame but I can’t think of any title as of the moment. Well I was John Mayer inspired so I thought of “Friends, Lovers or Nothing” but I don’t know. I also thought of “Do You Still Remember Me” or “Crossroads”. Man. I am not good at this! I’ll just leave it as it is.

We were practicing how to use a Wacom Cintiq stylus and our professor told us to draw something and submit it to him before the end of the class. So I drew Hobbes, the stuffed tiger of Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes. I also drew Stefan Sagmeister but I accidentally deleted the file. Hahaha!

How I wish I have my own tablet :( Hahaha

First of all, let me greet you a Happy New Year! Hope you have a great start of the year. Anyway, I’ll be posting few pictures about what happened on my New Year’s Eve. (by the way, I’m sorry if some of the photos are too grainy haha!)

After we watched our annual movie marathon during New Year’s Eve, I went outside and waited for some nice fireworks. Unfortunately, I was a bit early so I just took random photos.

Getaway, Last Day

Yup, finally I can rest! This is me with my Angry birds slippers my Dad gave me, and I am not a fan of Angry birds, seriously.

Really nice houses they have here!

At they what call, Finds convenient store at the village. Came along to look for some beef & chicken cubes. And of course, I just had to take a photo of my feet!

And when I got home, I tried to do some light painting but I failed.

While I was roaming inside our room, I found this odd pattern

Next morning, I woke up with a hot cup of a chocolate Swiss Miss with lots of marshmallows on it!

And I’m off to somewhere and saw this view!

And of course, I cannot forget this bulol or rice god that I saw inside their bathroom!

A Bulol or Rice God is an image of a sitting or standing male person. It is regarded as a deity that protects the rice fields of the Igorots, especially the people of Ifugao.

For me, it’s so intriguing that this is one of the things that I cannot forget that my professor taught me because of the name. Haha! To be honest, this is my first time to see a bulol. So I really need to get a photo of it!

Getaway, First Day

This holiday season, I honestly can’t feel the Christmas spirit that I felt two years ago. It isn’t odd. I am not myself. I am not being emotional, it’s just that I’m on hiatus since last year and I can’t figure out how I can get myself back together again.

Anyway, I’ve been exploring the world and seeing things in different perspective through my ol’ trusty camera Carter and I have a few photos that I wasn’t able to post here.

We went to Sonya’s Garden, our all-time favorite resto at Tagaytay. And saw some interesting things.

After having lunch, they went to this Panaderia shop while I scouted along the area.

Of course, I came along with them to see what’s in store. They sell Spanish breads and other kinds of bread I wasn’t able to memorize. Hahaha!

Then I went out and found this tiny little yellow butterfly!

I think this is the other side of the garden but then, it’s off-limits.

Always wanted to have a shot like this! Mission accomplished!

Color Blocking

Have you ever heard of Color Blocking? Last season’s trend was color blocking, it takes bold opposites on the color wheel and puts them together for the widest contrast possible. Got it from quora.com — Well, I’m not really into fashion but I do love looking at lookbook.nu for fashion advice haha! I have a friend, she is Patricia Venci and she is really crazy about color blocking! And when we attended the Graphika Manila last August 2011, she even tried to do some print blocking!

I interviewed her for my Website and Development class 1 last term under the category of student photographers. I only wanted to have 3-4 pictures of her showing off her style, but ended up getting more than 20! Hahaha! We had the photoshoot at the new building near Mayflower at CSB Taft Campus.

I was extremely busy with school last term to the point that I can’t update my Tumblr anymore. Hahaha! No really, I was really busy and we didn’t have any term break so my life’s pretty messed up.. until now. I have a lot of pending photos from last term’s shoot haha! I should’ve posted this right after “The Covers” post.

So last July 27 (I think) Bianca and I (along with some friends) went to UST for a sports illustrated photoshoot for my Conceptual Photography class. Originally, our prof wanted fashion illustrated but gave us a chance to do some sports photography since almost half of our plates are fashion related. Without asking our prof details about it, I already planned what shot I want to achieve while the others went to do fashion photography.

It was pretty hard to do sports photography because for me being a newbie in sports photography, I can’t predict how the shot will turn out. So I did some test shots experimenting what settings will be perfect for the shoot. But I’m glad I was able to get the shot I envisioned in my mind. We had the shoot at the UST field along with the scorching heat of the sun.

So here’s some of the photos!

I’m starting to like sports photography. Hahaha!
